The deep mysterious quiet of the height of summer passes over with the gradual resumption of bird call and the beautiful melancholy notes of the star of autumn- the robin.
As the years go by, my love for the natural world deepens and I try to slow down to realise the seasons fully. Painting helps me to really see and try to know the trees, the patchwork of greens in the view, wild flowers and birds.
This year for the biennial group exhibition for Somerset art weeks, I am very pleased to have 8 fellow artists to share my local village hall with. The theme, set by the organisers is Landscape:flux and flow. We interpret this in different ways in our work - exploring colours, shapes and forms from the natural world. We hope you will come and see what we’ve been working on.
