Angie Rooke

Landscape Artist

Living in the small village of North Wootton situated on the edge of the Somerset levels gives me an endless source of inspiration. With a view of Glastonbury Tor from my front door and rolling hills behind me, I spend my working day among the trees and wildlife with my two dogs. While others are at work I wander the countryside before returning home to my paint and canvas to try convey my feelings about a place.

I have drawn inspiration not just from the area surrounding my home, but from other places I love: from the far West of Cornwall to the stone circles of mysterious Wiltshire, Devon's rolling hills and the atmospheric countryside of Dorset.

Painting gives me the chance to look hard at the world around me and observe the year as it changes and the incredible colours of the natural world.
